Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo transfer July 9 2010 to Genoa, Serie A

Eduardo transfer July 9 2010-

I am delighted that Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo signed with a realistic club in the Serie A. He deserves to be in a top club but small steps is a good idea to get experience in the Serie A, and another country.

The Serie A has the “spotlight” like Spain’s LIga and the EPL. I couldn’t imagine Eduardo going to a Russian club or Turkey or France with all due respect. I do wish him better luck than fellow Portuguese players.

The long negotiations conducted by the ‘rossoblu’ (redblues- colors of the Genoa team) with Sporting Braga ended in the last hours. Eduardo distinguished himself in the 2010 South Africa world cup.

Photo 3 Portugal goalkeepers in 2008- training 2 days before Portugal 5-0 Faroe Islands

This photo was first shown to me by Pantera a few weeks ago. In the few pictures I've seen with goalkeper Quim, he's always getting teased by gk Ricardo. In this picture it looks like Eduardo is teasing Quim.

Video Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo post-game interview Portugal 0-0 Sweden, March 28, 2009

Eduardo has been in goal for the last 2 Portugal games. Will he be #1 Portugal goalkeeper in Albania (June) and in Hungary (October)?

It might depend on his performance at Sp. Braga and if the other goalkeeper alternatives improve. They are Ricardo (Betis), Daniel Fernandes (Bochum), Beto (Leixoes), Rui Patricio (Sporting), Moreira (Benfica), and Quim (Benfica).

Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo 2nd game in a row with the Portugal team- 2 clean sheets!

Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo 2nd game in a row with the Portugal team. He kept a clean sheet in these 2 games, Portugal 0-0 Sweden and Portugal 2-0 South Africa. So far, it's clear Queiroz intends to determine the #1 goalkeeper as soon as possible. The question is now #2 goalkeeper? Daniel Fernandes was on the bench in the last 2 games.
