Being a substitute at Sp. Braga and playing within the last 15 minutes of a game has to change.

Portugal Sub21 wins! Video goals Portugal 2-0 Cape Verde, 1st game in XIII Torneio Internacional da Madeira! March 24, 2009

The Portugal Sub21 team wins today! Portugal 2-0 Cape Verde, 1st game in XIII Torneio Internacional da Madeira! Matchday 1.

This is great news because I think Portugal is the strongest of the 3 teams in the tournament.

(O selecionador português de Sub-21,) coach Rui Caçador said:

About the missed penalty by Pereirinha and Rui Pedro-
"I have to highlight the situation I didn't linke and that will not happen again in the national team. The execution of the penalty wasn't a nice gesture. I hope that it won't be repeated. I want to apologize to the Cape Verde team that played with lots of dignity."

About the performance-
"I liked the competitive attitude of the team. The Cape Verde team was very defensive, well-structured, and most of their players play in Portugal."

About Wednesday's game against the national team of Madeira- "more difficulties."

Monica 08: Sp. Braga's Orland Sa' scored today and was in the starting lineup. Big difference from his club. At Sp. Braga he has come in the game within the last 15 minutes. Only in the game before the UEFA Cup he was in the startin glineup because the 'stars' were being rested for the 2nd leg game Braga -PSG.

Fábio Coentrão- was a substitute in the second half. He replaced Candeias in the 46th minute! Ended up scoring 20 minutes later!

Portugal sub21 team playing qualification matches for the Euro2011- next game in March 24 for the 'tournament of Madeira'

Photobucket

What's the next game of the Portugal Sub21 team?

I followed the team during the Sub21Euro in Holland in 2007 and the Under-20 Fifa World Cup. When Nani, Miguel Veloso and Antunes left, I stopped following their results.

Photo: Rui Caçador, the Portugal Sub21 coach. Was the assistant coach of Jose Couceiro in 2007. Became the head coach when Couceiro was sacked. Photo: Lusa

I'll start following the new faces in the Sub21 team again. Orlando Sa from Sporting de Braga and Rui Patricio are the 'popular' ones.

While The Portugal team is playing qualification matches for the 2010 World Cup. The Portugal sub21 is playing qualifications for the Euro 2011.

They're in group 9 with England, Greece, Macedonia and Lithuania. The qualification phase is from March 28, 2009 to September 7 2010.

So far
October 2008- defeat against Ukraine 1-0 in Pedroso, Vila Nova de Gaia,
November 2008- victory 4 goals against Spain, 3 goals scored by Orlando Sá (Sporting de Braga)

Next time the Sub21 meet
Training camp on March 2, and 3 before participating in the "Torneio Internacional da Madeira." It will be on March 24 and 27. The other three teams in the tournament are Madeira, Finland and Jordan.
