Cristiano Ronaldo is nominated for the FIFA World Player of the Year 2008. Winner to be announced until January 2009. Some fans think he doesn't deserve it. Some players might also think so privately. Why say it in public?
Marcos Senna, from Villareal, doesn't think Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to win the award. On Nov. 25, 2008, before the Champions League game Villarreal 0-0 Manchester United (Nov. 25, 2008) he said in Portuguese
"Cristiano Ronaldo is an over-valued player. When he doesn't score, his role in the field is very limited. He becomes a mediocre player.
He doesn't deserve the Golden Ball. He is not a complete player that Ronaldinho was during his best years. The brazilian scored goals with ease. With individualities or in set-pieces. Not counting his exceptional technical qualities, he made very good passes and ran all over the field."

Senna might be right but why ruffle some feathers?
Kaka' is another favorite to win the award. He won it in 2007 but he himself admitted that he's not in the best shape yet. Cristiano Ronaldo came in third place in 2007. Will he finally win it or at least get to second place?
