Deco fires Blues top: Chelsea fail to impress in 1-0 win at Wigan-- Skysports headline
Deco, Carvalho and Jose Bosingwa played all 90 minutes.
Paolo Ferreira was not even on the call-up list. The other 2 right backs, Bridge and Belletti were in the call-up list. Brige was a substitute in the second half: 83' Ashley Cole out, Wayne Bridge in. Belletti did not play. I think Belletti might leave Chelsea and move to Benfica.
Jose Bosingwa- I couldn't see the game. Saw the highlights and the video below. Sky Sports rating: 7 "More interested in attack than defending." That's true! He's been like that in the Portugal national team. He's more interested in making crosses into the area than running back and defending. One saw that in the Euro 2008 games. That's one way he differs from fellow Portuguese Paolo Ferreira who doesn't go forward as much.
Meanwhile, Scolari has put Bosingwa int he starting lineup in the first two games. I don't think he'll choose Bosingwa as the first choice right-back. We'll see.
According to the EPL Review show on Fox Soccer channel, Chelsea was not the same from last week's 4-0. If it wasn't for Petr Cech making 3 or 4 saves, Wigan could have scored and equalized the game.

"To be fair, it was nearly all Wigan. One man especially- Palacios, Yes, very much so. he's been simply outstanding. There were rumors that Man Unted wanted him last season. I can understand why. He's domianted taht center midfield area. Last week when Postmoju went behim. it was like they almost given up. THer s acomplete contrast wtih Wigan in the first half. I'm glad to see it because they're at home. They've got so show some confidence which is what they done. After going behing after the first 4 minutes. They had two or 3 great shots. Another great save by Cech. All credit to them. That's why I say Chelsea need the second goal."
