Today was Quaresma's turn to be at the press conference in the Viseu Portugal training camp for the Euro 2008. So far, he's been the player who more directly said that Portugal is not Cristiano Ronaldo plus 10. I agree with him, do you? I even wrote about it here. Question: Cristiano Ronaldo, being the image/icon of the Portugal national team, worried he's too strong of a competition for your posistion as winger?

On to what he said. Quaresma doesn't have any problems knowing that he's going to take advantage of the EURO 2008 to "prove" that he has what's needed to "be in the National team and play." He believes he will have an opportunity besides there being "very strong competition." 
About the competition he faces with Simao: "Simao and Quaresma are great players but I know the quality I have and I always work to be in the starting lineup ("titular"). It's the manager that has to choose. I am here to help. Even if I won't be starting I will certainly get my opportunity."
About Cristiano Ronaldo. [The press has asked each player about CR, you can sense a 'it's not just ronaldo in the team, ronaldo plus 10]:
Cristiano is among the best players in the world but it's not just him that plays . He's a geat figure and the opponents have enourmous respect of him and fear of him. At any moment, he resolves a match. Each one of us can resolve a match.

About Portugal's chances in the EURO 2008: "We have pretty difficult matches and we'll have to work a lot to reach those objectives."
There's a TV commercial where Nuno Gomes cheers for Quaresma's trademark style goal called "tribela." He was asked about it and said: "I hope to yell many times for him in this tournament."
