Ricardo Quaresma transfer saga to Inter continues..... The latest on "the mustang" famous for his "tribela" goals. In short. NO.
My thoughts:
I really want Quaresma to leave FC Porto and play among other international stars. At FC Porto it's him and Lucho Gonzalez the most important players. It's normal for him to get the prima-donna attitude.
Manager Jesualdo Ferreira has taken him out of the starting lineup a few times because of that. He has too much responsibility at Porto, free kicks, game, and sometimes too individualistic. A move at Inter with all the big stars will humble him down a bit.
It will be like the Torres case at Atletico Madrid. Torres last season at his former club was not great. The club would concede 6 goals in 1 game. Torres was never able to score against Iker Casillas, Real Madrid. Moved to Liverpool, different league, new players, look at him. Scores and scores.
June 27th, Record, Portuguese paper, FC Porto reject the offer for Quaresma.
Dragões rejeitam oferta por Quaresma" (The Dragons reject the offer for Quaresma)
Then that Inter and FC Porto did NOT reach an agreement. Inter sporting director, Marco Branca travelled all the way to Porto, Portugal. He met with the directors of FC Porto but was unable to hire Quaresma. It's reported he offered:
20 million euros
and Honduran forward David Suazo
and 1 season-long loan of Portuguese Pelé.
June 27 --RTP (Radio Televisao Portuguesa) tv news. Negotiations started in Porto, Portugal
Today I was watching Portuguese TV news online. Guess what, the headline: "Inter quer Quaresma" According to RaiSport, Mourinho asked Moratti for 1 midfielder and 2 wingers. One of the wingers can be Ricardo Quaresma.
According to this videoclip from today, Quaresma is one of Mourinho's priorities. Not just Quaresma, but Inter's ready to make an exchange because FC Porto needs reinforcements. 1 of these 3 players will join FC Porto if Quaresma joins Inter:
Midfielder Pele- the young sub-21 Portugal player
Midfielder Solari
Forward David Suazo.
May 31st- 7 days - Before the Euro 2008, Quaresma said he wants to leave FC Porto.
FC Porto's Ricardo Quaresma has added to transfer speculation. After the Portugal 2-0 Georgia friendly on May 31st, he said:
"It's time to leave. I already said it publicly many times. We'll see. We'll see what happens."
I agree. He needs to play in Champions League with other great players in a team. Equal or better than him. To see the video of him saying this click on the picture.
May 31st, O Jogo, cover of Portuguese sports paper, with his quote 'It's time to leave FC Porto.'Image: http://bancadejornais.sapo.pt/2008/06/01/ojogo.jpg
Why Quaresma had to say it 6 days before the EURO 2008, I don't know. He better score and be as convincing as he was in yesterday's friendly Portugal 2 - 0 Georgia in the euro 2008.
3 transfer distractions in the Portugal national team in Viseu camp for euro 2008.
1) From wednesday to Saturday- Scolari's future. Is he going to Chelsea? Did he decide. I'm so glad he clearly said on Friday that he'll decide until after the Euro 2008. The press didn't bother talking about his future anymore.
2) From last Saturday to today. Cristiano Ronaldo saying he'll talk about his future in "2 or 3" weeks. Yesterday after the Portugal 2- 0 Georgia friendly, he changed it to "2 or 3 days."
3) Now Quaresma. I hope the Italian press doesn't behave like the Spanish press at the Viseu camp. Asking teammates and printing unnecessary reports of transfers.
