According to Antena 1 Benfica has not asked for a renewal yet. That means he's free to sign with another club for next season.
If he doesn't stay in Benfica, where does he need to go? Quique has put Nuno Gomes on the bench in the last derby Sporting 3-2 Benfica. It's clear Quique trusts other players for the starting lineup. Goals are coming from Angel Di Maria, striker Cardozo, showing he's not indispensable.
I think he could return to the Serie A or La Liga. In the Serie A the top teams already have in form strikers wonder where he could fit in.
