One player from the Portugal national team is without a club. Can you guess who?

Hints: - Was a captain the last 2 seasons in his previous club in Germany.
- Was a substitute in the Euro 2008 games.
- His 30th birthday was on June 5th, during the Euro 2008 training camp in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

I read it on L'Equipe Meira quitte Stuttgart. I said "What?" I thought he'd stay at least another season. It says that he was told he wouldn't be wearing the captain's armband anymore. Here's an attractive picture him in the Euro 2008:

Defender Fernando Meira is leaving Stuttgart. Still not known what club he'll play in for next season 2008-2009. The reason isn't public either. I'll go to his official website to see if he has something there.

July 21st- Stuttgart already signed a replacement- central defender from the Netherlands Khalid Boulahrouz. The 26 year old player is from Chelsea and last season was on loan to FC Sevilla where he played little.
