Miguel Veloso in the Serie A 2010-11 conquered a starting lineup place in his 1st season!!!! Played in the first 6 matches until injuring his left ankle

2010-11 Genoa- Miguel Veloso playing in the Serie A this season. Contrary to the rotten luck that Quaresma and Da Costa, and the list of Portuguese in the Serie A, Miguel Veloso conquered a starting lineup place in his 1st season!!!!

He hasn't played all 90 minutes in a single game yet. He played in the first 6 matches of the 2010-11 season. His playing-time stats according to the Genoa website.

He came to a stop when he injured his left ankle against Bari. That ruled him out of the 2 important Portugal Euro 2012 qualifiers.

For 4 to 5 weeks he will be recovering. The Genoa website stated that on November 1 2010, less than a month from his injury, he's training individually.

By Week 9, Genoa is #10 in the table, right below Roma.

Playing time stats from the Genoa website:

What Genoa matches he missed-

Unfortunately he missed week 9's big game- Genoa - Inter. The good thing is that Genoa only lost by 1 goal at home.
Veloso got injured on matchday 6, October 3 2010. He missed

Week 7- October 17 2010- Roma 2-1 Genoa-  BIG Game with last year's 2nd place team. Roma always a contender despite this season's shaky start.

Week 8 - October 24 2010- Genoa 1-2 Catania

Week 9- October 31 2010- Genoa 0-1 Inter - BIGGEST game- European champions, current champions. Yet Inter managed to score only one goal. Genoa didn't do too bad compared to rivals, Sampdoria. Sampdoria also conceded only 1 goal from Inter but only after scoring first!

What's next-

This Friday will be the 4th week since his injury. Since estimated time of recovery is 4 to 5 weeks, expect him to train again with the rest of the team 2 weeks from now, November 19 2010. If we estimate him being fit by November 21 2010- then he'll miss 3 more matches:

November 7 - Palermo - Genoa
November 10 - Genoa - Bologna
November 14 - Cagliari - Genoa

November 21 2010- estimated return

In time for a big game against Juventus.
