Video text Simao Sabrosa's press conference Feb 27, 2009 before Sunday's Atletico v. Real Madrid

So many Portuguese players to follow in the Spanish La Liga. Tomorrow Simao Sabrosa's Atletico plays against Real Madrid. Atletico had the embarassing draw against Portuguese club FC Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday, Atletico 2-2 FC Porto. I say embarassing because to draw with 2 goals AT HOME, let Porto dominate them, with all due respect....

Feb 27, 2009- Video press conference of Simao Sabrosa about Sunday's game Atletico v. Real Madrid.

About Barcelona's latest results:

Simao: "They had 2 or 3 games that weren't as good. They were playing very well, winning and scoring goals. Right now, they're not as good as a few games ago. That is normal. They were playing very well for months in a row. They have a strong team and they won't have any difficulties. It would be good for Real Madrid to catch up because that would mean that we would ve won."

About drawing at home in front of the home fans in El Calderon with FC Porto (Atletico 2-2 FC Porto).

Simao: "We always want to do our best, not just to try. The word to try is not the appropriate one. We have to walk on the soccer field like we did in Camp Nou in the Cup. We have to start strong and show what we know how to do, which is to play football and have a little luck, which is what we need."

About the 6-1 that Atlético got at Camp Nou in the first leg-

Simao: "That belongs in the past. We are not supposed to think of that bad day and we always have to be positive. Last year we beat Barcelona with a 4-2. It was a bad day for us and we're going to change that. We have the quality to stay up in the table. We want to win the 3 points."

About Atletico's latest bad results, which is only one victory in 2009!

"We ended the year well, and now we need to work hard to change the trend. We need to have luck, but we have to work to earn it. We'll se if we beat Barcelona. It's not just about luck, which is important too. The most important thing is for the players to go on the soccer field and work hard. If we do that, nobody can beat us."

About the media criticizing a player shortly after they praised him-

"Either you're very good or very bad. Before it was 'the 4 fantastic players' (los cuatro fantásticos (Simao, Forlán, Maxi y Agüero) and now what? Everytime we come to the press conference we always talked about the importance of the group, nothing individual about it. When we win, we all win. When we lose, we all lose."
