Antunes is not on the call-up list for the Portugal team. That means Paolo Ferreira will once again play on the left side. There's no way Ferreira will play as a right-back with Bosingwa and Miguel on the call up list.
Portugal needs more left-backs.
So far there are only Antunes and Caneira. Sporting's Caneira was not called up either.
Portugal's back four
Queiroz called up 6 defenders for the Brazil - Portugal friendly.
Two right-backs that like to go forward:
Bosingwa, (Chelsea) and Miguel (Valencia).
No left-backs-
Right-back Paolo Ferreira will play OUT of position again. Ferreira was used to playing on the left-side under Scolari. In the last friendly Brazil 0-2 Portugal, Ferreira was a substitute in the 45' and played on the left-side all the second half. The last time Antunes played 90 minutes for Portugal, as a left-back, was in the friendly Portugal 5-0 Faroe Islands on August 20, 2008.
Three central defenders:
Bruno Alves (FC Porto); Fernando Meira (Galatasaray); Pepe (Real Madrid)
Most likely to be in the starting lineup are Pepe and Bruno Alves.
