The 23 players are arriving at Hotel Montebelo at Viseu, in the northern center of Portugal. They'll train there before going to their EURO 2008 camp at Neuchatel, Switzerland. Why slowly?
- 4 of the 23 players allowed to arrive later:
Wednesday May 21 st is the Champions League final!!! Those 5 will be playing in it! They are Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani from Man U. Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira from Chelsea. Can you believe it? Both sides have international players.
Here's a picture I took of Ferreira back in July 2006. It was around 10am, waiting with other fans to catch a glimpse of Chelsea players in our hometown, L.A., CA. The pre-season Chelsea training at UCLA. I couldn't believe my eyes!
The 2 Chelsea players can win the Champions League for the 2nd time. Or, Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani for the 1st time. I hope Chelsea wins. Whichever club wins it, one of these players will sure make it on the cover of the sports newspaper, Record.
- Training at the Viseu camp for 13 days:
The 1st to arrive yesterday (Monday) was goalkeeper Ricardo. 73 international caps. The first training is today Tuesday. The national team wil be there for 13 days, until May 31st. They'll then leave to Neuchatel in Switzerland.
