Betis coach Paco Chaparro finally talked about putting goalkeeper Ricardo in goal. Too bad it will be in a "Copa Del Rey" game and not the regular La Liga. Still the game Betis-Castellón, Copa del Rey 2008-2009, Nov. 16 is important because it can go through the next stage if they keep their lead from the first leg, 0-2.
Nov. 11, 2008- According to MARCA (Spanish paper) current Betis goalkeeper Casto still doesn't convince the Betis fans and Ricardo will be in the starting lineup in tomorrow's game.
"The idea is for Ricardo to play, if he's fit and there are possibilities, he'll have to play. Casto, if I have doubts about him, I won't put him from the first minute. What happens is that everyone goes through highs and lows," said Chaparro on Nov 11, 2008.
Ricardo is beginning to play! The pressure is on coach Chaparro to test Ricardo in the league too. Betis hasn't lost their last 3 games yet there's a need for Ricardo.
